WHAT IS THE PRATICE?

THE PRACTICE is a four week program designed to strengthen your body and your mind.

What to expect: Four Saturdays that build on each other, ending with your own four week training plan, one you build and test yourself.

Every session pairs a body focus with a mind focus: you move, you understand, and you leave with something you can use immediately.

You will receive a workbook that will encourage you to go deeper, strengthen your knowledge and have a lasting document that reminds you of your PRACTICE journey.

THE 4 WEEK STRUCTURE

YOU WILL LEAVE THE PRACTICE:

  • Understand how your body moves and adapts to training

  • Know how to train with weights and tools in a safe, effective and confident way

  • Understand basic training principles and what actually drives progress

  • Recognize movement limitations and know whether mobility or stability is the limiting factor

  • Have practical tools to better regulate stress and respond to physical and mental load

  • Feel more confident creating and adjusting your own training routines

  • Feel more grounded, present and resilient in everyday life

  • Rather than following workouts blindly, you'll understand what you're doing, and why.

NO MATTER IF YOU ARE AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR TRAINING JOURNEY OR ALREADY HAVE EXPERIENCE AND TRAIN REGULARLY, THE PRACTICE MEETS YOU WHERE YOU ARE AND HELPS YOU BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION TO GROW FROM.

WHAT PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCED THE PRACTICE SAY

I loved the workshop so much. You both created such a warm, safe space where nothing felt awkward or judgmental. It just felt easy to be there, be yourself, and even get to know yourself a bit better. You shared so much knowledge in such a natural honest way, without ever sounding preachy.

Strength training had always felt kind of unfamiliar to me, and before the workshop I didn’t really understand why it should matter for me personally, especially in relation to the other classes and sports I do. Now it makes much more sense, and I feel like I could understand much better what is actually happening in my body. The mind session also gave me so much to think about. There were so many things you said that really hit me and stayed with me, in a way that made me reflect more deeply on both my physical and mental health.

You could really feel how much love and effort went into every part of the workshop, even in all the little details like the goodies and the folder. It was so obvious how well you two work together and how beautifully you complement each other as a team. And even though I had already had such an exhausting week, the workshop did not feel draining at all. I left feeling calm, relaxed, and kind of full in the best way. I also came away with so many new questions and could have come back next week to keep going where we left off. Thank you so much.

I really enjoyed this workshop. It gave me a much clearer understanding why my body sometimes feels out of sync even when I’m doing my best to look after myself.

What made the experience particularly valuable was the combination of Marie and Paul. They complement each other incredibly well, bringing different perspectives and expertise that create a well-rounded and engaging experience. The balance between education, movement, breathwork, and practical strategies meant that nothing felt overwhelming.

I had several moments where things clicked for me, and I left with a better understanding of my own patterns, along with realistic tools I can start implementing straight away. I walked away feeling more confident in how to support my health moving forward.

Honestly, I didn't really know what to expect. I felt like I already had a good understanding of what stress is, how it affects my body and how to deal with it. But I hadn't expected to get such deep and comprehensive insights into all the different facets in such a short time. I now feel like I really understand cortisol and stress on a much deeper level, and I've been given practical tools to manage both better in everyday life. The Non-Sleep Deep Rest session at the end was completely new to me, but Marie led it beautifully. I felt like I was letting go of stress I didn't even know I was carrying.

MARIE-THERESE BURKA

Marie is a mental coach, personal trainer, and integrative health coach. With a background in sports and nearly three decades of experience, she has been exposed to a wide range of approaches to movement.

Over the years, the importance of truly connecting body and mind has become increasingly relevant to her. What once focused on performance or appearance evolved into something far more personal. No longer about looking good in the mirror, but about cultivating real strength and resilience, inside and out.

Marie guides participants in setting meaningful goals, unlocking their potential, navigating challenging life phases, and dissolving limiting beliefs.

She consciously stepped away from corporate C-level roles to pursue self-employment and turn her passion for health into her everyday life. Within THE PRACTICE, she encourages participants to take responsibility for their inner alignment and step into their full potential.

PAUL STURM

Paul is a sports scientist, strength coach, and fitness and health trainer. With an academic background in sports science and hands-on experience in both personal and group training settings, he developed a grounded understanding of how the body adapts to load, stress, and movement over time.

After facing prolonged health challenges himself, his perspective on training shifted. What became central was the ability to move through life with more ease, to feel capable, resilient, and physically independent.

Paul helps participants understand the core pillars that make movement reliable, adaptable, and sustainable.

His work focuses on reducing fear and strengthening trust in the body. Training is simplified rather than made more complex, offering a clear framework for both self-directed trainees and those seeking a new perspective or a deeper understanding of their body.
